Happy Thursday beauties! Today I'm bubbling with excitement because I FINALLY get to show you what I've been working on the last few months. Well, okay. More like the last five years since that's when we were married and I never did too much with our master bedroom. I mean, seriously, just look at this pic:
Dingy. Brown. Dog paraphernalia. The furniture, mirrors and the rug were new from
Ikea but everything else had no direction. I didn't know what I wanted to do for colors yet until this year. Black and white have always been a classy combo to me. I create lots of black and white designs but for our master bedroom, I knew I wanted to add a pop of color. My first choice was a bright watermelon until I started falling in love with yellow. Yellow can be both feminine and masculine, so I decided to go with it. And I'm so glad I did!

I needed a bed cover because of the dog. This beautiful fabric is from Joanns. Cut, hem and iron. Wala! Dress up any old comforter too. |

His dresser. |

Curtains too plain? Measuere some fun fabric, cut, hem and stitch a strip right on there! That's what I did. |
|
The top of my handsome husband's dresser. I love the personal photos and his favorite cologne. |
|
I created this custom piece highlighting important dates. If you're interested in a custom piece, email me. |
|
Handmade pillows are so fun and that Typography script pillow is one cloth napkin sewn in half! |
|
There probably won't be a bench tutorial because my husband made it but isn't she lovely?! Thanks babe! Metallic legs are a must btw. |

Glitter inspirational quote on canvas board and framed! I absolutely love this saying and it motivates me daily. |
|
The faux birdcage from our wedding filled with memories from that wonderful day and our 7 years together! |
|
No, the sonogram photos are not for sale (cute right?) but these dainty handpainted candle holders are right here. |
|
I spy a future tutorial post! Also, how cool is this geometric lampshade and clear lamp from Target? Hotness. |
There you have it, folks. I'm enjoying this room right now as I write this. It's so inspiring in here now!! The pops of yellow and sparkle warm my insides. It was really awesome of my man to make that upholstered bench. It also opens for storage, I just have to figure out what to store...anyways, it rocks my socks. I did help too, promise.
I look around and there still are some small projects I'd like to do. For example, add black and white family photos to the frames above my dresser and hopefully get more grown-up bedside tables. Or maybe I'll just paint mine black...sounds like another DIY project added to the long list!
Now tell me, what is your favorite color combos right now?
I'm also digging yellow, navy and white. Let's chat in the comments!
LOVE this! But you already knew that! :) I am adoring yellows right now. It is my absolute favorite color. I am painting our master grey and decorating with pops of white and yellow, and I am painting my studio yellow with pops of coral and white. It will be a few weeks before I have any room reveals on my blog, but I am sure you will see them on Instagram. ps. I think we most def need to move our houses closer so we can hang, cook together, and decorate together.
